Vision and Hearing Assistance

Ever since Helen Keller challenged the Lions Clubs International Foundation Convention at Cedar Park, OH in 1925 our primary focus for community service has been vision loss. In our Clarkston area cummunity we address this challenge in a number of ways and have added hearing loss as another component of our services.

  • Providing examinations, new eyeglasses and hearing aids to community members who need assistance
  • Collecting used eyeglasses and hearing aids for recycling in underdeveloped countries: these items are sorted, cleaned, categorized and sent with medical teams who conduct clinics with the assistance of local Lions clubs
  • Conducting regular Project Kidsight free vision screenings for children in our community

Eyeglasses and hearing aids can be dropped off at any optometrists office in Clarkston or at the Clarkston Independence District Library.
